Adrienne Kapstein

Adrienne (she/her) is a collaborative theater artist and theater educator. She creates visually rich, physically adventurous new work and participatory performance experiences that exist across various mediums. Adrienne is interested in building community through the connection and interaction with public spaces and is passionate about bringing experimental work to audiences of all ages and sharing live art across generations.

Her original work has been presented in the U.S., Canada, Scotland, Ireland, Romania, Croatia and China. From 2012 - 2014, Adrienne was the Associate Director of Movement and Horse Choreography on War Horse (Broadway; National Tour). From 1999 to 2007, she was the co-Artistic Director of award-winning international ensemble, SaBooge Theatre.

Adrienne has taught undergraduate, graduate, and professional actors at the Stella Adler Studio, NYU, LIU, Marymount Manhattan College, Brooklyn College, Hunter College, and Pace University, as well as K -12 students and senior citizens as a Teaching Artist with the Metropolitan Opera Guild, Lincoln Center, and the New Victory Theater. She has developed curricula introducing the Lecoq approach to multiple institutions including courses on devising, mask, and physical acting. She is the co-founder of Movement Theater Studio, the only Lecoq based acting studio in NYC, and is Associate Professor and Head of the BA Acting and BA Directing International Performance Ensemble (IPE) program at Pace School of Performing Arts at Pace University.
